I am going to start off with, I wasn't looking forward to staying in this hotel, somebody at work had looked on reviews and it wasn't given a good review so I was dreading it.
I didn't pay for this hotel, the company I work for paid for us all to stay in the hotel the night before and the night after the Yorkshire Three Peaks however I left a day early and I will explain in the next blog post.
Now the room I was given was in the main building, it was very cute, I was expecting something really grimy. What I first noticed when I went to my room was the lights took ages to lighten up. It was clean, going to be honest I wasn't the neatest like you can see in the picture with the bedding but it was clean. It's very vintage looking with the odd furniture but it doesn't bother me.
The bathroom is definitely a work in progress, very small but not that there can be much done about it, but the things like the toilet roll holder could have been fixed. I never used the shower because I went home early (again will mention in it in the next blog post)
We had an early start we weren't going to be having breakfast so they created these breakfast packs for us, I forgot to take a photo inside but there was a pastry, carton of orange juice, Quakers porridge bar, cereal bar and mandarins, it was lovely.
I didn't get to explore the site and we arrived at night, the staff were really friendly, we are a large group and they were okay with us sitting in the bar area drinking.
Don't get me wrong there are things that could be improved on but I don't think it is as bad as people made out, they were lovely towards us. I did find it weird that some rooms had two single beds and a bath but some had no bath and just a shower, some had a four poster bed but in generally they were lovely towards us.
