REVIEW: LUX SKIN™ IPL Laser Hair Removal (After 3 Months)

I saw this device all over social media and during lockdown you can't have professional laser treatment so thought I would try it out myself. If I shave my legs they bleed, it's not because I have cut them with the razor, it's the rash that happens so I use hair removal cream once a week because it grows stubbly and horrible.

CLAIMS:

  • Use the LUX SKIN IPL Handset to reduce hair permanently

  • Results in as little as 1 session

  • No need to charge, just plug the device in and go!

  • Painless and fast to use

  • Save thousands compared to salon treatments

  • Use in the comfort of your own home

  • Suitable for ALL body areas

  • Use once per week, for 12 weeks. After this time, you can use just every month or 2, for maintaining.

  • If after 8 weeks you are not noticing hair growth slowing down enough, you can use can use twice per week.

  • IPL works best on Brown and Black Hairs (its less effective on Red, Blonde and Grey hairs)

  • IPL is suitable for all skin tones EXCEPT BLACK. (Dark skin tones have a risk of burning)

  • AVOID TATTOOS - the dark pigment will fade and burn

  • Always shave prior to using IPL (the light needs to hit the hair root)

  • Safety glasses are not required with our handset, but do not use to close the eyes.

PACKAGING:

It comes in a box and wrapped in a bag

  6. Repeat 1 x per week, for 12 weeks for best results.

Week 1

I tried it for the first time on my face, legs, bikini line and arm pits, I didn't notice any difference like they claimed I would. I had it on level 1 and didn't feel any pain or any sensitivity so did another "coat" or "round" on level 3, the only thing you feel is warmth. I shaved the night before.

Date tried: Sunday 14th June 2020

Week 2

I tried this machine on my face, legs, bikini line and arm pits on level 4 and it was warm but other than the areas I go over being warm I haven't noticed any other differences.

Date tried: Sunday 21st June 2020

Week 3

I haven't seen any difference to my leg hair or any hair where I use this machine. I did level 4 on my arm pits, bikini line, face and legs. I am hoping that it works for me. Date tried: Sunday 28th June 2020

Week 4

Before I shaved my legs like they say you have to before using this device I noticed I had some bold patches and I know this isn't something usual for me so maybe I have held the machine over certain areas and its working quicker. I shaved my legs and used this machine on level 4 on my arm pits, bikini line, face and legs.

Date tried: Sunday 5th July 2020

Week 5

I still have had to shave my legs and also armpits the day prior but I am unsure whether it's any different. Date tried: Sunday 12th July 2020

Week 6

On setting 5 and it felt okay.

Date tried: Sunday 19th July 2020

Week 7

Still feels okay.

Date tried: Sunday 26th July 2020

Week 8

Pretty much the same.

Date tried: Sunday 2nd August 2020

Week 9 (day 1 & 2)

I am starting the twice a week, I shaved my legs and armpits both times but it wasn't really needed because of how little hair. Date tried: Sunday 9th August 2020 & Wednesday 12th August 2020

Week 12 (day 1 & 2)

The hair is very thin, I am going to continue to keep using it.

Date tried: Sunday 30th August 2020 & Wednesday 2nd September 2020

My hair is very thin on my legs and armpits, certain places on my legs have bold patches and maybe in another three months I won't have to shave again, I will update you.
