REVIEW: Gousto Calabrese Pizza With 'Nduja

I fancied trying a few new dishes and I feel the best way to do so is to go on Gousto and order a few meals.

HOW IT COMES: It comes in a cardboard box with ice packs, all the dry products come in their very own paper bag.

PREPARATION TIME:

25 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 flame-baked pizza bases

  • 40g 'Nduja

  • 1 red chilli

  • 1 sweet pointed pepper

  • 125g mozzarella

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 50g rocket

  • 64g tomato paste

  • 15ml balsamic vinegar

  • 1 garlic clove

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C (fan)/ gas 6. Put a large baking tray (or two) in the oven to heat up (this will stop the pizza bottoms from going soggy!) Peel and finely chop (or grate) the garlic.

STEP 2: Add the tomato paste to a bowl with the chopped garlic, dried oregano and a generous pinch of salt, pepper and sugar. Add 4 tbsp cold water and a drizzle of olive oil and give everything a good mix up – this is your pizza sauce.

STEP 3: Drain the mozzarella, then pat it dry with kitchen paper (squeeze as much liquid out as you can!) Tear the drained mozzarella into rough, bite-sized pieces.

STEP 4: Deseed the pepper (scrape the seeds and pith out with a teaspoon) and cut into thin strips. Slice the red chilli finely (can't handle the heat? Take the seeds out!)

STEP 5: Remove the heated tray from the oven and add the pizza bases. Divide the pizza sauce between the pizza bases and spread it evenly all over them. Tear the ‘Nduja into small bite-sized pieces. Top the pizzas with the torn mozzarella, pepper strips, sliced chilli (not a fan of spice? Go easy!) and the torn ‘Nduja.

STEP 6: Put the tray in the oven for 15 min or until the cheese has melted and the pizza bases are crispy – these are your Calabrese pizzas with 'Nduja.

STEP 7: While the pizzas are cooking, combine the balsamic vinegar with 2 tbsp olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl – this is your balsamic dressing. Wash the rocket, then pat it dry with kitchen paper. Serve the Calabrese pizza with 'Nduja with the rocket to the side. Drizzle the rocket with the balsamic dressing and season the pizzas with a generous grind of black pepper. Enjoy!

I LOVE this pizza, can't wait to make it myself, I haven't tried 'Nduja before but this was delicious, perfect amount of spice to the pizza as well.
