REVIEW: Essie ExprEssie Nail Polish Quick Dry Formula

I am known for having a lot of nail polishes, I have shrunk my collection down to about 80 which I know is a lot still but when I saw Essie have a new range out I had to try it, I love Essie polishes in general and wanted to know if these were any good.

CLAIMS:

  • Quick dry on-the-fly formula: you've got places to be, that's why our polish dries in about a minute - so you can apply on the fly

  • First angled brush: speedy application, easy to apply even when using your non-dominant hand

  • 40 unconventional colors: I am not sure we have that many colours in the UK yet

  • 8 free* & vegan formula: no animal-derived ingredients *formulated without: formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, xylene, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, dibutylphthalate, triphenyl phosphate

PACKAGING:

If you have already had a regular Essie nail polish then this is a skinny but tall version of it, I love square/rectangular packaging, it's easier to store.

Now Or Never

Not tomorrow, not next week, the perfect time to try this black quick dry nail polish is now - or never

I prepped my nails by buffing and filing but no base coat because they don't say to.

Layer #1: It looks like a decent colour I just think a second coat is needed.

Layer #2: Every where I see this like on Essie or ASOS they say it is a grey colour but I would say it is black and I love black nail polish.

Day #5: You can see how much growth I have, my nails have chipped.

Day #6 (Removal): Nails have chipped so more and I can't stand it so I removed it using my favourite nail polish remover from Cutex, it was easy to remove, no extra work needed.

Seize The Minute

When you live at the speed of life, you can dry on the fly - seize the minute in this blue-toned red quick dry nail polish.

Same prep, buff, file and cleanse but no base coat.

Layer #1: Bit patchy and streaky.

Layer #2: Much better with a second coat of nail polish and looks a lot better.

Day #5 (Removal): I got a few chips on the nails and with a colour like this it really irritates me so I had to remove it and it all came off using my regular nail polish remover, it didn't stain my nails so that's a bonus.

Second Hand, First Love

One person's thrift, is another's gift - this dusty rose pink quick dry nail polish gives feels of a perfect find and a first love

My nails all prepped with a buff and filing.

Layer #1: Sheer covering.

Layer #2: A lot more coverage and even coat.

Day #5: A few chips already, I removed it from the finger that had a huge chip because I don't want to wreck my nails.

Day #7 (Removal): More chips and time to remove, easy to remove.

Buns Up

Meet our favorite hairstyle- buns up - minimal effort, maximum impact - just like this light beige nude quick dry nail polish.

Prep by buffing and filing the nails.

Layer #1: A little sheer.

Layer #2: Still a little streaky.

Layer #3: Looks a lot better, I never normally wear shades like this.

Day #6 (Removal): The chips are annoying so I removed it and no stains.

Air Dry

Quick dry your hands in the air like you just don't care - air dry on the fly with this slate blue quick dry nail polish.

Prepped the nails like I normally do.

Layer #1: Not streaky.

Layer #2: Second coat has made it look a lot better.

Day #3: Little chips on the edge of the nails.

Day #4: More chips.

Day #6 (Removal): More chips so I decided to remove it and notice it has left a slight stain.

Date Tried: Saturday 11th July 2020

In The Time Zone

Consider us clocked in and focused in on this pastel pink quick dry nail polish with blue undertones.

Prepped and ready.

Layer #1: This is definitely a nail polish that you need more than one coat.

Layer #2: Much better.

Day #3 (Removal): Moving into the unit for Maude & Noah meant I have chipped quiet a few nails plus I ended up breaking a nail (the really flat nail). I removed it and forgot to take photos but it was easily removable.

Date Tried: Sunday 2nd August 2020

I think this brand of nail polish is good for those who loves to change their nail polish all the time but wants something to quickly dry. I have nail polishes that dry quickly and last longer than these, the only problem I really found with this product is my nails started going yellow and I believe that's because.I don't wear base coat also they don't stay shiny.
