I have been making sausage rolls for years but didn't do it for a while until lockdown and thought I would share my recipe with you all.
Ingredients
9 pork sausage
300g puff pastry
Pepper
1 egg
Method
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C
Step 2: Remove the skins from the sausages and add a generous amount of pepper and mix together
Step 3: If you have made or bought a block of puff pastry roll it out on some grease proof paper, I just get ready rolled puff pastry, what I have done is cut it in half length ways
Step 4: Roll the sausage meat into a sausage and place in the middle of the pastry
Step 5: Roll the pastry around making sure they are connected/over lapping
Step 6: Whisk an egg together
Step 7: Now as I am not wanting both of these sausage rolls what I do is cut the grease proof paper and wrap one sausage roll up and put it into a zip lock bag then freeze
Step 8: With the sausage rolls I want to cook, I cut them to whatever size I want, I have done mini party size then spread some beaten egg onto them
Step 9: Put them into the oven for twenty minutes or until golden brown
