I love cherry and almond as a flavouring together so thought I would share my flapjack recipe that I love making and even though there is fruit in them they are most definitely NOT healthy.
Ingredients
300g porridge oats
125g butter
50g light brown sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup
100g glace cherries
handful of sliced almonds
Method

Step 1: Prehead the oven to 200C - 400F - Gas Mark 6.
Step 2: Melt the butter in the microwave or over a pan of boiling water.

Step 3: Once the butter has melted add the oats and give it a gentle mix.

Step 4: I cut the cherries into quarters and places them into the bowl and a decent handful of sliced almonds then gently mix together, the reason being gentle because you don't want to break the oats down.
Step 5: Either lightly grease a tin or place some baking paper into a tin and put the mixture into the tray and pat down. Now if you do not pat down they will not crumble once they have cooked.

Step 6: Cook until golden which takes about 15 minutes.

Step 7: Take it out of the tray to cool down and enjoy.
NOTE: if you don't want to add cherries and almond and just want plain flapjack you will need 125g light brown sugar instead of 50g light brown sugar.
