I love Greggs Cheese and Bacon Wrap but thought during lockdown I will try and make myself.
Serves 8
Ingredients
300g puff pastry (shop bought or homemade)
Extra Mature Cheddar
8 slices of smoked bacon
Method
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C
Step 2: Roll out your puff pastry, I have made puff pastry but I do love ready rolled shop bought pastry, if you are using homemade or a block of puff pastry prep by putting grease proof paper down
Step 3: I cut the sheet into 8 squares (rectangles)
Step 4: Shave some extra mature cheddar and put some on each block
Step 5: Add a slice of bacon on each block, I fold the bottom bit under where all the fatty part is
Step 6: Fold the corners diagonal and put it on a tray
Step 7: Place the turnovers into the oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown, I tried to get a photo when they came out but I turned my back to wash up and the family had already had some
They are best served when they are warm, I suggest you put them in the oven if you have them the following day.
