Portofino Ristorante (Harrogate 2022)

I know, yet another Italian blog post however this is an Italian in Harrogate, we went there for my brother's graduation.

The online menu is really confusing, it doesn't flow.

What I ordered was obviously an Aperol Spritz, they do a dish which is half pizza and half pasta so I got that and ordered Tagliatelle alla Carbonara and Diavola Pizza (pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños and parma ham), now bare in mind this was the day after I returned from Rome and I will have to admit the carbonara was better than the ones I tried in Italy so well done Portofino's.

To share we got warm flatbread with butter, olives and garlic bread and I could have eaten that flatbread over and over again.

The whole family loved the meal, it was less than £200 and bare in mind we all had a dish, all nine of us plus four of us drinking alcohol which was reasonably priced.

One thing that let it down was the older man who was front of house, he was rude, not very welcoming, was rushing people and I know it is hard during the weekend to work in a restaurant, I have worked in the hospitality industry but he was rude to customers and horrible to the staff, now I know he isn't the owner because on Google there is a picture of the owner. The other staff were so lovely but he just let it down, he went to a table and took the receipt over and they said their dessert hadn't even arrived so they were being rushed out.
