July 2018 Favourites

I haven't done a monthly favourites blog post for a while so thought I would take this opportunity to share a few really good items.

BEAUTY

Ciaté Love Me Oil Cranberry Cuticle Oil

My job has wrecked my nails so bad and it saddens me because before I started this job I had got my nails to such a good strength but sadly I am not allowed to wear nail polish at work and my hands are always in water or covered in anti-bac gel so my nails and hands in general have been dry and flaky so I have started putting this cuticle oil all over my nails as a weekly treatment and I have noticed such a difference.

Palmolive Gourmet Vanilla Pleasure Body Butter Shower Cream

I have never tried anything from Palmolive but when I was browsing a supermarket I saw vanilla and had to smell it, if you know me you may know that my favourite scent is vanilla so had to buy this and oh wow! I have been loving this as an in-shower body wash/body moisturiser as well as shaving cream so that I have silky soft legs.

MUSIC & PODCASTS

This month I have really enjoyed a lot of music so I thought I would list them and if you click on them it will take you to a YouTube link so you can listen to them yourself.

Aretha Franklin - Who's Zoomin' Who: I sing-a-long all of the time.

Eternal - I Wanna Be The Only One: Come on who doesn't love this song.

George Ezra - Paradise: Still loving this song, I just dance and sing-a-long. I am jealous of a family friend Jacinda who is going to see him in concert.

Kiki Dee - Star: I have loved this song for a while but the only problem is I can't find it on Spotify, can anybody tell me why?

MIKA - We Are Golden: This song puts me in such a good mood all of the time.

Musical Youth - Pass The Dutch: This song reminds me of my gorgeous goddaughter Ramayah, I remember being in my cousins car and this song came on and Ramayah started singing so cutely. This month I have heard it in such random occasions.

Patti Smith - Because The Night: Another song that I love and sing a long, it is such a relaxing song.

Tina Turner - Proud Mary: I am FAT, I am going to be honest, I am a large girl and people underestimate me so when I play Just Dance on the Wii people think I won't be any good but yet I am still top, nobody has beat me at any song. My chosen song is always Tina Turner Proud Mary because I feel like I have done a proper workout so I decided that I was going to put a lot more effort into losing weight so I put on the Apple TV Tina Turner Proud Mary and just dance-a-long. I always move when this song is on. A little story about me so I had to have my appendix removed and boy did it hurt but when I got home I was given the privileges of television remote and I found Tina Turner Live In Holland concert on Sky and I regret it because I completely forgot that I had surgery two days before because I jumped up and also pulled a stitch out when this song came on. Another story a good friend Kylie (his name is Kyle but I call him Kylie - he is Jacinda's son) was round ours once and he is very good at sports - he is an athlete well we got him to copy Tina Turners performance and he was tired afterward. If I can meet any famous person it would have to be Tina Turner - I love her.

BLOGS & YOUTUBE CHANNELS

I care across her YouTube through recommendations and honestly feel privileged to watch someone so motivating and inspiring.

TV SHOWS & MOVIES

Chicago PD

I have started rewatching Chicago PD and love it, there are things that I don't remember seeing the first time so it is kind of like I am watching parts of it for the first time again.

Our Girl

Love this show so much, I wanted Georgie and Charlie to go out so I am pleased.

War & Peace

BBC iPlayer has War & Peace on again so I have been rewatching it, I loved it the first time and love it the second time. I have a bit of a crush on James Norton, I loved him in this, I loved him in McMafia. War & Peace was originally a book and BBC did a historical period drama with a few big names like James Norton and Lily James (who is in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again - can't wait to see that, she was also in Cinderella, Baby Driver, Darkest Hour), Paul Dano (was in Little Miss Sunshine, Knight and Day, Cowboys and Aliens and 12 Years A Slave), Jack Lowden (was in Dunkirk), Aisling Loftus (was in Mr Selfridge), Tom Burke (was in Strike - loved that show so much), Ade Edmondson (is a well known face in Holby City), Gillian Anderson (loved her in this show as well as The Fall), Jim Broadbent (loved him in this and also London Spy and who remembers him in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - which by the way was my favourite film as a child) and many more. Whilst it is still on the app I would recommend you go and watch this mini series plus you have to tell me if you agree with this statement 'there are so many attractive guys in it' - TRUE!

OTHERS

HandFan

Where I work I am surrounded by various different machines that let off a lot of heat, I am on my feet all day and feel so hot. England has been suffering and I mean SUFFERING with really hot weather and that doesn't help the work situation and one day I felt light headed because I was overheating so decided to get myself a small electric fan that is portable and got this. I love it, it has saved me from collapsing as well as a few other staff members.

Pilot Frixion Highlighters

I am busy with various projects so write a weekly to do list and using these highlighters has helped me progress more, I am more of a visual person so these are bright but also there have been a few tasks that I highlight as done but then maybe for example the phone call meeting I had didn't actually mean that the job was done. A bit of a random favourite.
