FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Ordinary Serum Foundation #Blogmas2018

Back in May I tried The Ordinary Coverage Foundation for a blog post and when I purchased that foundation I tried to purchase this one but my shade wasn't available and FINALLY they have my shade in.

  • CLAIMS: lightweight medium-coverage formulations

  • looks natural with a very lightweight serum feel

  • resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer

  • offer a semi-matte finish

HOW TO USE:

  1. Shake before use.

  2. Dispense a small amount into the palm or the back of your hand.

  3. Smooth on and blend throughout the face, ideally outward from the midpoint of the face.

I quite liked The Ordinary Coverage Foundation even though I gave it 4/5 I have used it multiple times since and love it so expect a revisit blog post. I had in my mind before looking at the claims that when I heard the name of it I thought serum would be perfect for someone with dry skin.

I applied the foundation using my BeautyBlender® and didn't like how powdery it looked on my skin, I do agree that it is lightweight on the skin and it's medium coverage.

Makeup applied okay on top BUT the foundation has collected in my forehead fine lines which makes my lines look worse than they are.

UPDATE #1 (1pm): My skin is definitely semi-matte, the foundation doesn't look that bad it's not as powdery and I think that's because of my natural oils.

UPDATE #2 (3pm): My skin looks dry and very powdery and yet shiny and patchy on the nose, I really needed some face mist but I didn't want to change or add things because it wouldn't be a fair test.

UPDATE #3 (9pm): My skin feels dry and looks dry too, the foundation claims to feel lightweight and at the end of this test it doesn't feel lightweight.

I am going to leave this foundation for a while and do a revisit, maybe I will like it again but right now I don't like it, my skin doesn't look good, my skin feels horrible further on through the day. The whole claim of 'resist collecting within fine lines' isn't correct for me.
